I love movies but...

I've been thinking about what I want my blog to be lately. I love having a place to put my thoughts where people may stumble upon them. I think movie reviews alone might be to narrow.  I have so many other things to say, but I like the idea of tying them to movies.  I need to figure out a way to tie these to ideas together.

Say tuned to what to come...

P.S. Maleficant was amazing. Contouring makeup was on point !

Godzilla

I waited until Sunday to see this movie, which wasn't the best idea. By then, Facebook and Twitter had many opinions that made me skeptical of a movie. Everyone was saying, " Don't waste your money" or "You only see Godzilla twice." Obviously,  this made me concerned about going to see it, but I love movies so I went to watch it.

I'll break it down in a simple pro and con list:

Pros
  • The story flow pretty well. We saw the beginning middle and end.
  • It tied into historical events very well. WW2 and the Cold War were portrayed very well.
  • Godzilla was a hero. He was a flawed hero, but a hero all the same.
  • Lovely story of man versus nature.
Cons
  • The tragedy seemed a little forced. Throughout the movie the lost of important characters seemed a little much.
  • Destruction was at a level 11 out of 10. Building and people were lost like popped bubbles in the wind.  This kind of damage bothers me to my soul.

Last point.
Godzilla probably could have gotten more camera time, but I don't think it was necessary for the storyline.

Mystery Incorporated

What was life before Netflix? Recently, I decided to watch Mystery Incorporated again. For those that are not familar with the series, its a spinoff of Scooby Doo. Fred, Velma,  Daphine, Shaggy and Scooby are solving mysteries and unmasking unearthly villains.
The weird part of this version is all the love stories. We all know who suppose to fit together, but it's weird watching it actually happen. Shaggy is with Velma. Daphine gets with Fred. Even Scooby doo finds love in the series.

This version of the gang also features some very adult level of jokes. It makes me like it so much more, which probably because I am now an adult. If you have Netflix, just watch it.

P.S. X men this weekend!! I'm excited. Godzilla review on its way.

What Spiderman 2 taught us...

On Cinco de Mayo, I finally got out to see the Amazing Spiderman 2. I really enjoyed the storyline and the villains were pretty entertaining. Andrew Garfield is a way better Spiderman than Tobey Maguire's version.  Sorry, not sorry.

Lessons learned in The Amazing Spiderman 2:

1. Don't let men slow your life down. Gwen Stacy showed us the worst case scenario of this situation.  She should have stayed in the cab.

2. Regular people cannot fight super villains with a pistol or not gun at all. People of Marvel New York please run away from super villains.

3. Andrew Garfield is a beautiful man.

Bless the summer movie season.

4 Reasons to NOT participate in exorcisms

After watching The Quiet Ones, an decent demon movie, I have some tips for people thinking about participating in exorcisms.

1. Don't. If there's one thing I've noticed from every movie that involves a demon, it's they always win and they never die. Don't put yourself through that kind of next-level pain.

2. You dont want to be that only person that survives just to get blamed because all the evidence that you had disappears. Demons are smarter than you.

3. If a demon can claim a human's soul, what makes you think you can compete with that kind of power?! Follow the motto, "Let go and let god."

4. I think demons came up with exorcisms to claim new people. Don't be their next victim.

If this isn't enough for you not to participate in am exorcism, I hope it works out.

Captain, my Captain

Captain America is so beautiful. I love him, but who doesn't?  Captain America is the all-american hero. He always saves people and has hope for humanity. It was a grest movie. All the action scenes had me stuck in a trance til the very end. Just go watch it if you didn't see it this weekend.

Favorite part: the Captain America, Falcon, and  Black Widow trio. Did anyone caught the romance chemisty between John and Natalia?I wouldn't mind that couple.

Questions: How will this tie into Avengers? There are so many loose ends from the previous Avengers, Thor, and now Captain America. Seems like they are going to have alot of ground to cover.

What do you think of the latest Avengers?

Noah (less review, more thoughts)

First, I want to say I really enjoyed this movie. I've been thinking alot about all religions this year and watching this movie made me appreciate all of them more. The way the production brought Noah to life made him interesting to all people. The Watchers, also known as fallen angels, were one of my favorite aspect of this movie. Seeing them fall, covered by molted rock, and beaten down by man was a moving image.

This movie made me think about the path that humans have gone since the beginning. Eating meat, farming, building cities, developing technology and striving to improving on those ideas every year may have ruined the earth. Though this is true, we are like all animals that want to survive. Survival is at our core.

Everyone has their own beliefs, but it interests me how everyone believes in some kind of higher power that gives this world meaning and reason. Whether it's science, Jesus, Budda, Muhammed,  etc. This thing or idea created the world and we have to maintain it for survival in this world. We have to keep order. I love that about people. We have the ability to create truths from nothing. We can find proof and organize facts and ideas to create truths. What's more amazing is that we then have the ability to abandon these truths. That's what amazed me most about Noah. He abandoned his truth for the plan the Creator wanted him to fulfil. That makes the human mind amazing.

SIDENOTE: Favorite part of the movie.... Emma Watson.
Who doesn't love Emma Watson ?
