Brickkk!

This post is inspired by Swaggy P.
Life is so strange. When everything seems to be going perfect, luck can change very quickly. A way to prevent that is to never get comfortable. The goal is to alway keep reaching and prepare for what happens next, even if things do work out. When things are going your way you should continue to work harder.
This reminds me of one of the most memorable scenes in Love & Basketball. Monica makes an amazing shot, but after poses admiring her work. While she's unfocused,  the other team gets the rebound and makes a shot. Moral of the story: stay in the game.
Comfort only leads to mistakes and embarrassment. Whether in career or life, "Stay hungry, my friends."

Need for Speed.

Need for Speed follows Tobey Marshall on a quest to avenge his friend's murder in a high-profile street race.

After watching it, I would say it met all my qualifications for a racing movie: fast cars, high action, a love story, a bromance, and a revenge plot. If you like racing movies,  just watch it. It has some of the most amazing cars I've seen in this kind of film. This movie wasn't about regular street cars.

There was a  Bugatti Veyron SS

And a Koenigsegg Agera R

And even this Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.

Having those cars gave it a different edge than most racing movie.

Questions that remained when the credits rolled:

How could Benny fly helicopters and planes over major cities without being shot down by the armed forces? This is post-9/11. There is no way he could fly that freely. What do you think?

Why did they need to be ridiculously reckless at all times? There was no need to put so many innocent lives at risk. I hate when regular civilian are reduced to props and no people each time they run a red like or drive in to incoming traffic. My brain doesn't work in that way.

There was no prize. Cars can not be the only winning if they can be destroyed leaving the winner with nothing. The De Leon was a cool idea, but is stupid without a real prize. Bragging right will not make me put my two million dollar car in the race.

Overall, I liked it and I would watch it again on Netflix.

Genital Crisis

It's the year 2014. News anchors gather around to report on a heliocopter crash. Suddenly, a penis appears on the screen on live television. My question: Didn't we learn from the Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake Superbowl debacle?

Where was the delay?

I will say they handle it well by apologizing and admitting fault. In those types of situation, when everyone is laughing at you and pointing fingers, its best to own it and move on. It was clearly an unfortunate mistake that made them the center of jokes for days

The person in charge of PR for a news organization must love crisis. That should just be written in the job description.  I feel like they have one every week. Not all of them get national press, but people are probably mad at them all the time.

8 miles worth of rejection

They say landing for your first real job after college is hard, but I didn't realize how hard it would be on my ego. The emotional rollercoaster of getting excited about a company or postion, the nervousness of the interview, the anxiety of waiting for the next steps, and the crushing pain of rejection sucks.
I've been through this 10 times in the last month. It is hard to keep picking myself up and going into the next interview with confidence. I'm starting to understand how Rabbit felt in 8 mile when he was trying to get into the rap game. (If you haven't seen 8 mile, do that !)
I figure I should share some things I do to feel better about myself after rejection:
♡ Go for a run or a walk.
♡ Do something nice for yourself like shopping or a pedicure.
♡ Take a day off the job hunt to revamp my resume and cover letter and remind yourself of your qualifications.
♡ Talk to someone who been through what you're going through for tips and ideas.
♡ Complete a project. There's nothing better for the ego than finishing something.

Sometimes when it doesn't work out it's probably because you wouldn't have been happy there. When it finally does work out, it's going to be the right place for you.  Or at least that's what I'm telling myself. Being positive is the key.

Celebrities eating pizza at the Oscar's

The thing I love most about this picture is that there are people, idolized by society, eating pizza. Pizza has to be the one of the most casual foods on the planet. It's the default for parties late nights, and lazy days.
Here we have celebrities in thousand-dollar dresses and fancy suits eating pizza on the most important night in the movie industry.
One word: Awesome.
